PMP Proficiency Program™

Vitesse-OTI’s unique PMP Proficiency Program is a three-month, part-time program for project managers planning to take the Project Management Professional (PMP) exam. This comprehensive series of courses is designed to meet one-half to two-thirds of the total study requirement for the exam, consisting of the following modules:

  • PMP Exam Preparation Course (36 hours): 1-5 pm OR 6-10 pm, Mon+Wed+Fri, Jun 14 - Jul 2
  • PMP Exam Application Workshop (2 hours): 6-8 pm Tue, Jul 6
  • PMP Learning Lab (27 hours): 6-9 pm Tue+Thu, Jul 8 - Aug 5
  • Applying the PMBOK Framework (24 hours): 6-10 pm Mon+Wed+Fri, Aug 9 - Aug 20
  • Testing Your PMP Readiness (24 hours): 6-10 pm Tue+Thu, Aug 24 - Sep 9

The modular format allows the student to choose areas where he or she will need the most guidance on preparation. All modules are facilitated by seasoned PMP facilitators, specifically trained in delivering the topic and method of instruction applicable to each module. An overview of the program is given in regular PMP Proficiency Program Orientation sessions.

What You Will Learn

By attending the entire program, you will be fully prepared for the PMP exam. The modules cover all knowledge areas and process groups of PMI’s Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide) in a variety of formats to suit all needs. You will not only learn the subject matter thoroughly, but will also understand how to apply it on a real project and have the confidence to take the exam following completion.

How You Will Benefit

  • You will learn PMI’s framework for project management, which will prepare you for the PMP exam and improve your project management skills in general.
  • You will network with professionals for the duration of the program and beyond. This will increase your chances of getting a desirable job.
  • Once you pass the PMP exam after completing this program, your credential will open doors to better opportunities. You will also attend professional development events after the exam in order to maintain your credential by earning Professional Development Units (PDUs), which will develop your project management skills and offer you further networking opportunities

Who Should Attend

  • Project managers wishing to upgrade their skills and earning a credential that has become the international standard for project management.
  • Project managers wishing to maximize their chance of successfully passing the PMP exam the first time.

The program fee includes 113 hours of instruction consisting of five modules given over a three-month period (as described above).

By registering for the course, you:

  • confirm that you currently are either unemployed or underemployed (Community Program only); and
  • agree to join the Ottawa Talent Initiative and the Vitesse PMO Student Community.

Cancellation policy: Your registration may be cancelled up to one day before the start of this event, in which case the course fee less the total of our costs (EventBrite fee, PayPal fee, HST) plus a $15 administration fee will be refunded. No cancellations will be accepted and no refunds will be given on the day of program start or afterwards. We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel the event due to low enrolment. You will be given a full refund in case of cancellation by the host.

It is strongly recommmended that you also attend the PMP Proficiency Program Orientation Session on Wednesday, June 9 (free of charge). Registration for this event is at http://pmp-ori-2010-jun.eventbrite.com/.
